First of all, you have to make sure that your game is updated to the latest version.
GWS enables you to connect with other players through the internet in order to surprise trade the pokemon. In GWS you have to initiate a pokemon trade and you’ll receive a surprise pokemon in return. You would not be able to know which pokemon you’ll receive until the trade is finished.
You need to acquire the first badge in Oreburgh city by defeating the gym leader in order to be able to trade in GWS (global wonder station worldwide) pokemon trading system. Otherwise, it would not be enabled.
When you received your first badge you have to go to the westward in Jubilife city and enter the GWS. It requires a paid Nintendo switch online subscription. To initiate a trade, you’ll need to talk with the attendant and she will welcome you with a message notification.
Then an options menu will appear, choose “Use the GWS ” and you will get a message “You are now connected to the internet”
After that, confirm to save your adventure, and then you’ll go to GWS. Select Trade and you’ll get to your inventory of pokemon you have caught.
But you have to keep in mind that there are some pokemon that you can not trade, pick the pokemon you want to trade and “select” under the sub-menu. Select any spot on the globe, the spot represents where your pokemon live.
After that, select “trade” and it will automatically select a trade partner and a trading animation will start playing. When the trading is finished, an icon of your trade partners’ pokemon will appear on your globe and your pokemon icon will appear on your trade partners’ globe. You can collect more rewards as you pick more points on the globe.
