How to Set Up PS2 Emulator (PCSX2)

This guide will let you know how to Set Up a PS2 Emulator (PCSX2).

Download PCSX2

First, you have to visit PCSX2.on the following link https://pcsx2.net/. Open the website, go to the Download tab, and the drop-down menu will give you options for the operating system. You need to select Windows if you are using windows or if you are using any other operating system, then select that one from the list.

Once the download is completed, you have to click on “show in the folder” and then drag this to your desktop.

Installation of File

After this, you have to open the browser again to download the bios file. Open up the following link https://romsmania.cc/bios/pcsx2-plays…, click on Download, and the bios file will start downloading.

After that, click on “Show in the folder” and drag this file to the desktop. Now you have to open the PCSX2 setup file and simply install this. Once the setup file opens up, you need to select normal installation, and then click Next to complete the installation.

As the installation is finished now, you have to extract the bios file that you downloaded earlier. Then go back to PCSX2, navigate to the config tab, and select plugin/Bios selector from the drop-down menu.

A new window will pop up in front of you, you have to click on Browse and locate the bios file which you have just extracted. You will find your bios in the top column.

You have to select your region, then click on Apply and OK. Now your bios are good.

Config PCSX2

Next, you will need to open the PCSX2, go to the Config tab, and select Video(GS). Then select Plugin settings, set Renderer to Open(GL)hardware, and Internal Resolution to your monitor’s native resolution. Anisotropic filtering should be set to 4x. After doing all these settings, click on OK.

Controller Set up

For this, you have to open PCSX2, go to the Config tab, select controller(PAD) and then select Plugin settings. A new window will pop, you need to select the pad1 tab on the top of your screen and if you are using a Bluetooth controller, you have to make sure that it is connected to your PC as it will automatically detect your controller. To map your buttons out, you need to click on the button you are ready to emulate, and then hit that button you want to emulate in replace of that button. Once you are done, click on Apply.

Now you are ready to load up your game, so go to the CDVD tab and click on ISO selector. Then click on browse and locate where you keep your PS2 games.

After this, go to System, click on “Boot ISO (full)” and your game will load up now.
