At the bottom of your screen, it shows that you have to press the right d-pad to text chat, so you need to press right on the d-pad to open up the chat box. If you want to bring up your virtual keyboard on your PS, then you have to press the triangle. With this, you can easily type in your message. After typing the message, press r2 to show it’s done, and then press X to send this message.
It also says that you have to press the square button to change the channel. With this, you can change to the appropriate channel, and by this, the person to which you are sending the message will easily see your message.
Add Keyboard
Your PlayStation and Xbox give you the option to add a keyboard, it can be a Bluetooth keyboard or a USB keyboard. You just have to connect it and plug it in then on the top left corner of your screen and you will get the keyboard logo. It means that your keyboard is connected to your Xbox or to your PS.
Now you just have to press enter on your keyboard to open the chat box. With the help of the keyboard, you can type the message and then again press enter to send it.
