Pokémon HG/SS: The Best Rock & Ground-Types

Golem

Golem is a Rock-and-Ground-type Pokémon, known as the Megaton Pokémon. Golem was first introduced in Generation 1. Golem is 1.4 meters tall and weighs approximately 300 kilograms. Its abilities are Rock Head, Sturdy, and it yields 3 Defense points. Its base friendship is 50 and its base experience is 223. This Pokémon grows at a medium slow rate. The egg cycles of the pokemon are 15 (3,599–3,855 steps). 

Tyranitar

Tyranitar is a Rock/Dark-type Pokémon, it is 2.0 m tall and weighs 202.0 kg. Tyranitar is known as the Armor Pokémon, and it has Sand Stream as an ability, and its Attack stat is 3. It has a 45% chance of being caught with a Pokéball if it has full HP. Its base friendship is 35, which is lower than the normal value of 100. Its base experience yield is 270, which is rather slow. The egg cycles of these pokemon are 40 (10,024–10,280 steps).

Marowak

Marowak is a Ground type Pokémon, its Pokédex entry says that it is the Bone Keeper Pokémon. Marowak was introduced in Generation 1. It has a new Alolan form that was introduced in Pokémon Sun/Moon. Its abilities are Rock Head and Lightning Rod. It is known as the Bone Keeper Pokémon. Marowak has a high Defense stat and can withstand many hits, making it an ideal choice for training EV yields or catching rare Pokémon. The egg cycles of these pokemon are 20 (4,884–5,140 steps). 

Aerodactyl

Aerodactyl is a Pokémon having a Mega Evolution available in later games. It was introduced in the first generation, and its Pokédex entry says it is known as the Fossil Pokémon. Aerodactyl has rock-hard skin and can fly with great speed, even at high altitudes. It is said to have attacked ancient pterosaurs in aerial combat and left their bones behind as evidence of its might.  It has high catch rates (5.9% with PokéBall, full HP) and base Friendship of 50. Base Exp. is 180, and the growth rate is Slow. Breeding takes 8,739–8,995 steps to produce an egg.

Steelix

Steelix is a Steel and Ground-type Pokémon having the Rock Head and Sturdy abilities. Steelix is 9.2 m (30′02″) tall, 400.0 kg (881.8 lbs) in weight and it is known as the Iron Snake Pokémon. The amount of experience points you earn when catching it is 2 Defense. Its base friendship level is 50 (normal). The egg cycles of these pokemon are 25 (6,169–6,425 steps).
