Celeste is a platforming video game developed by Maddy Thorson and Noel Berry.
The storyline is centered around a girl name Madeline climbing the Celeste Mountain. Madeline is a woman with mental health issues and wants to climb the Celste Mountain at any cost. An old woman called Granny living at the base of the mountain warns her of various threats and obstacles on the mountain course but Madeline doesn’t listen. She then sees a dream in which a reflection of herself tries to stop her.
On her way to the top, she stops at a hotel where the hotel’s manager convinces her to stay although the condition of the hotel is very ghostly. Her reflection again appears and helps Madeline escape. Madeline then seeks out her reflection and tells her to leave her alone. Enraged upon hearing this, her reflection causes Madeline to plummet down to the base of the mountain, right from where she started. She meets Granny again who advises her to talk to her reflection instead of running away from it. She finds her reflection and apologizes. After that, the two decide to climb the mountain together.
The main character can climb up walls and perform jumps. She also has the ability to perform a mid-air dash in different directions, though she can only do this once. There are several additional mechanics like springs that launch the player and wings which the layer can use to fly briefly. The game also features an Assist Mode where you can enable features like infinite in-air dishes and invincibility. The game has an A side featuring challenging puzzles and a B side, which further increases the difficulty level of the puzzles. Solving all he puzzles in B side unlocks C side which has even more difficult puzzles built on mechanics featured in A and B sides. After finishing the C side, you can access the Variants menu. It is similar to Assist Mode offering features like 360 degree in-air dashing and low friction.
