Risk of Rain Co-Op: How to Play Multiplayer

Risk of Rain is an exciting action platformer game with roguelike elements and eternal death. Split Screen

If you want to play Risk of Rain with multiple players on a shared screen, follow the steps below.

  • Make sure to connect all the controllers to the gaming device.
  • Go to the main menu and Select “Start Local Co-op” to start a split-screen multiplayer game.
  • After that, you will be prompted to set the number of players for the game.
  • You need to select the number of players you want in your game.
  • Each player needs to select “Control” to choose their controller.
  • All players must select “Choose Character” on their respective controllers to choose their character.

LAN Host

Follow the steps below to host a game on LAN:
  1. Go to the main menu and select “Start Online Co-op” to start an online game.
  2. Tap on “Host Game” to create a new game as a host.
  3. You will find a list of available characters, you need to choose your character. 
  4. Wait for other players to join your game.
  5. Tap on “READY?” to start the game once all the players have joined. 

Join LAN

If you want to join an online game session on LAN, then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the main menu and select “Start Online Co-op”. 
  2. After that, select Choose “Join Game”, then input the LAN IP address and port number provided by the host of the game.
  3. You need to select your character. 
  4. Click the “READY?” button to confirm that you are ready to join the game. 

Host Online

To host an online session of the Risk of Rain, you have to follow the steps below:

  1. Set up port forwarding on your router to allow other players to connect to your game. The default port for Risk of Rain is 11100.
  2. Go to the main menu and select “Start Online Co-op.
  3. After that, select the “Host Game” option and choose your character. 
  4. Wait for other players to connect to your game. They need to select “Join Game” from the main menu and input the LAN IP address and port number to join the game.  
  5. Click the “READY?” button to confirm that you are ready to start the game.

Join Online

Follow the steps below to join an online session of the Risk of Rain:

  1. Go to the main menu and select “Start Online Co-op”.
  2. Select the “Join Game” option and enter the public IP address and port number provided by the host of the game.
  3. After that, select your character and click the “READY?” button to confirm that you are ready.
