The Ultimate Scopes Manual – Cyberpunk 2077

Scopes in Cyberpunk 2077 allow players to aim more accurately and execute long-range shots. They play a crucial role in combat and are usually the difference between critical and missed shots. In this guide, you’ll look at all fifteen scopes available in the game and their respective locations and rank them based on their strengths and weaknesses. Without further ado, let’s jump in!

Add-Vantage

Right at the bottom of the list, the Add-Vantage scope is placed. Manufactured by Budget Arms for the mass market, this scope leaves a lot to be desired. It features an ammunition counter and an archaic yellow aiming halo which changes tint when aiming at an enemy. The change in tint is almost negligible as the yellow halo buzzes slightly when hovering over an enemy target. The change in colour tint becomes impossible to discern in sunny and outdoor conditions.

The Add-Vantage offers 5.04 meters of increased range and 0.14 seconds deduction in time while aiming down this scope. Sure, it’s better than nothing, but the Add-vantage scope is, at best, a starter scope. It is available from weapon vendors such as the Sunset Motel in the Badlands, Marty Jenklow in Arroyo, and the Nomad camp. The Add-vantage scope is a budget scope, short-ranged, and features a hard-to-see aiming halo. It’s best to skip this one.

OS-1 GimletEye

Another short-range scope, the OS-1 GimletEye, is a common holographic scope. Manufactured by Kiroshi Optics, the GimletEye increases the gun’s range by 4.31 meters and reduces the ADS(Aiming Down Sight) time by 0.15 seconds. The Epic variant of this scope can be purchased from the Second Amendment store or the Kabuki weapon vendor for $608 eurodollars.

The GimletEye scope offers a practical feature at the bottom of the holographic sight. The bar at the bottom turns red when targeting an enemy, and this feature helps players know when to shoot and when not to. It also features a little ammunition counter at the bottom corner, but it’s annoyingly tiny, and players can better assess their ammunition status by checking their HUD.

The scope is small and becomes a nightmare to see properly in brightly-lit and outdoor scenarios. The small scope is the biggest limiting factor for the GimletEye, and this manual suggests replacing it later as the player progresses.

Jue

The Jue is a stylish mid-range scope that can only be used for assault, precision, and LMGs. It can be purchased from Robert Wilson at the Second Amendment store for $1485 eurodollars. The Jue offers a zoom factor of 0.99.61 meters of increased range, and an ADS reduction time of 0.20 seconds. The mid-range scopes can’t be equipped on pistols, shotguns, and SMGs.

The stylish oval shape of the Jue scope features a characteristic blue tint when looking down at it but has a minuscule center dot in the middle that’s almost impossible to see. Especially in sunny and brightly-lit environments, players will have trouble locating the center dot. They will have to estimate the middle point by placing the target dead-center of the scope.

The tiny center dot makes it hard to execute shots for long-range, accurate shots. Resembling the sniper rifle scope from Halo, the Jue scope barely holds its own and is inferior to other mid-range scopes in the game.

MK. 2x Grandstand

A hybrid, the MK. 2x Grandstand is a combination between a short-range and a mid-range scope. Manufactured by Militech, the Epic variant of this scope features a zoom level of 0.5 and extends the range of your weapon by 9.89 meters. It dons the classical, circular shape of scope with yellow-tinted sights and inner boxes for better accuracy. The inner box lights up whenever a target is within the confines of the inner box. It is a very useful feature and comes in handy during tough combat situations.

The Grandstand scope works best with assault rifles, improving their short- to mid-range accuracy. It sometimes feels like a short-range scope but is a mid-range scope. The Epic Grandstand scope can be purchased for $1200 from each of the three weapon vendors in the Heywood district.

The Grandstand is a mid-tier scope at best and should only be equipped with Assault Rifles. There’s also a glitch in the game where this scope is available to equip on sniper rifles. Do not equip this scope, as your sniper rifle will spawn without a scope, and no other scope can be added. The only remedy after this innocent mistake is to reload the game from a previous point.

Type 2067

Another short-range scope, the Type 6027, is a wider box-shaped scope. It is built with a designer holographic sight and features a built-in glass reflector that offers a reasonable, wider targeting area. The center of the scope consists of a small, red reticle that turns red when targeting enemies. The reticle is small for this guide’s liking. The scope performs poorly in overly dark and overly light environments.

The Type 6027 suits Precision Rifles the best, even though it’s a short-range scope. Other mid-range scopes are better suited to this particular role, so the Type 6027 scope suits only a small segment of playing styles. The grey background of the glass reflector is seemingly lost against darker backdrops, so not a good idea to use this scope indoors. The Type 6027 boosts your gun range by 5 meters and reduces 0.15 seconds of ADS time.

The Epic Tier of this scope can only be acquired by visiting the weapon vendor in Corpo Plaza by the Halsey & MLK fast travel point for $675 eurodollars. The Type 6027 is a classic, easy-to-read scope, but far better scopes are available in the game.

SO-21 Saika

Another mid-range scope, the rare SO-21 Saika, is an Arasaka-manufactured scope. The Saika reduces the gun’s ADS time by 0.18 seconds and boosts the gun’s range by 10 meters. It also features a good zoom of 0.9 and a unique targeting system. The targeting system is a floating hologram with four diagonal arrows at the four vertices and a lighter center reticle in the middle.

The targeting system has no glass and is purely a projection. It may sound cool, but its snazzy-looking targeting system performs awfully in combat. When aiming at an enemy, the four diagonal arrows and reticles turn red and are merely all style over substance. The borderless rectangle is difficult to detect in combat and proves a nightmare when trying to ascertain the targets in your sight.

Acquiring the Epic variant of this scope is quite challenging. Only one vendor in Night City has them, and after countless spamming, they can be purchased from the Japan Town weapon vendor for $1485 eurodollars. The Saika scope is not worth the hassle, and its targeting system is an apt example of the Kitsch style—all the styles with no substance.

E225 Percipient

A hybrid mid to long-range scope, the E225 Percipient is almost a sniper scope without actually being one. The Percipient boasts a zoom factor of 1.1, a typical 10 meters added range and a 0.2 seconds reduction in ADS. It is available from several vendors, such as the Sunset Motel in the Badlands, Rancho Coronado, and Arroyo weapon vendors. The Epic variant is priced at $1350 eurodollars.

The Percipient bores a distinctive look with a mostly circular shape, except the bottom left corner is an elongated smaller circle. It adds some upgrades to environmental lighting, making it easier to see through the scope during both day and night conditions excellently. The Percipient scope shouldn’t be used at short range as it’s a major hindrance and ideally should be used as a sniper scope. That entails climbing high vantage spots and letting your scope do the heavy lifting.

The scope’s greatest strength is also its biggest weakness. As most of the fights in Cyberpunk 2077 entail close-quarters combat, wielding this scope in corridors and inside buildings is a foolish endeavour. The Percipient scope is limited to certain combat scenarios, but it’s mighty effective and useful for those specific scenarios. Players must choose their moments with the Percipient scope to get the best out of it.

Kanetsugu

Another Arasaka product, the Kanetsugu scope, is a short-range scope. It’s designed as a handgun scope and ideally should be used in close quarters. The scope adds the typical 5 meters of added range to your weapon and reduces 0.15 seconds of ADS time. It sports a holographic circular targeting system, and the red tint allows the player’s eyes to distinguish it easily. However, the tiny red reticle is a bit more difficult to spot.

For mid-range, it performs poorly, as the circular targeting system is small, and with the weapon recoil kicking in, it’s challenging to land accurate and critical shots. In brightly-lit or sunny scenarios, it sometimes becomes difficult to ascertain the circle due to the edgelessness shape of the circle.

Despite Arasaka being known for building top-of-the-line products, the Kanetsugu scope needs to live up to its expectations as it works perfectly with only pistols, and that too at close range only. It can be purchased from Robert Wilson at the Second Amendment store after refreshing his inventory several times. The Epic variant costs $675 eurodollars.

Hyakume

A short-range scope, the Hyakume scope features a digital holographic sighting system. With a 0.15-second reduction in ADS time and 4.65 meters of extended range, it fits the mould of a short-range scope—additionally, an ammunition counter at the bottom of the scope and a reasonably-sized targeting zone.

The Hyakume dons an oval shape and covers a significant target area with its bright yellow reticle in the middle. It’s easy to use and look at and provides useful ricochet ability. Not the most exciting scope, the Hyakume gets the job done and is a breath of fresh air compared to other short-range scopes.

The Hyakume scope is relatively simple yet effective and available cheaply. Acquiring the Hyakume is burdensome, as players must refresh the Japan Town and West Wing Estate weapon vendors several times. The Epic variant of the Hyakume scope is purchasable for $675 eurodollars.

E305 Prospecta

A preferred scope for snipers, the E305 Prospecta is produced by Nokota Manufacturing. This long, sleek scope sports a simple circular shape with a dot in the middle. The Prospecta has a zoom factor of 3 and a reduction of 0.15 seconds of ADS time. The increased zooming capability allows players to shoot long distances and hit anything they can see in the scope.

The Epic tier for this powered long-range scope is priced at $3,713 eurodollars. The Prospecta scope features a blue tint that helps players discern enemy targets from the background. It works brilliantly during the night as it does during the day. It is available at The Glen weapon vendor in Vista Del Rey or the Kabuki Market in Watson.

The E305 Prospecta is the popular choice for sniper rifles, and with its simple design and long-range, there are no questions about its effectiveness. It also features a scroller on the left side that tells the players’ shooting angle. This feature has no real impact on the gameplay but is a nice touch from the developers.

HPO MK. 77 Kanone MAX

Another sniper scope on this list is the HPO MK. 77 Kanone MAX. It features a distinctive green night vision tint and a wide area for targetting faraway enemies. Compared to the Prospecta, it has a much wider targeting area while looking alien-like. The Kanone Max scope is ideal for attacking enemy hideouts at night but works perfectly during the daytime. Designed by Militech, players should expect a high-quality scope with no stone left unturned.

The Kanone Max is designed for stealth snipers, with an elevation number on the bottom left of the aiming screen. As bullet drop is not an issue in Cyberpunk 2077, players can ignore the numbers but must appreciate the attention to detail in this long-range scope.

The Kanone Max is the cheapest of all three sniper scopes, costing $3,000 eurodollars. The Epic tier of this scope is available at several locations, such as the Sunset Motel in the Badlands, Corpo Plaza, and Japan Town weapon vendors. Players with light wallets should opt for the Kanone Max when in the market for a classic, stealthy sniper rifle scope.

CQO MK. 72 Kanone MINI

A short-range scope, the CQO MK. 72 Kanone MINI is one of the game’s most effective scopes. Resembling the popular scope from the Call of Duty games, this one is as simple as its effective. It sports classic small-box-type holographic sights. Like other short-range scopes, it has an increased range of 5.06 meters and a reduction of 0.14 seconds of ADS time.

The Kanone Mini greatly boosts a player’s accuracy and range owing to adding red in the holographic. When targeting an enemy. The holographic flashes red, and the small yet concrete rectangular sight lets the player aim and land critical shots much more effectively. The ability to distinguish between enemy targets and space is crucial to a scope’s success, and the Kanone Mini exceeds on that front.

The Kanone Mini allows players to easily discern environmental features in all kinds of lighting, resulting in its wide appeal. The Kanone Mini sticks to the basics and executes them very well. The Epic variant of this scope is available only at The Glen weapon vendor for an economical $750 eurodollars.

Gaki

A sniper scope, The Gaki resembles a mini-computer screen on top of your weapon. It features a reduction of 0.15 seconds in ADS time. It also has a digital ammunition counter displaying your weapon’s remaining rounds. The large font size of the ammunition center allows the player to make real-time decisions efficiently. The scope provides a blue environment, making it easier to discern enemies in the environment.

The Gaki’s reticle is superb, allowing players to shoot with pinpoint accuracy. It complements the long-range scope and allows players to execute long-distance lethal shots with your sniper. The immersive display of the Gaki scope makes using the scope much more interesting and exciting.

The Gaki is a dazzling scope that suits players new to sniper shooting and simplifies the aiming part. It can be bought for $3,713 eurodollars. The Epic variant of this exceptional long-range scope can be purchased from Robert Wilson at the Second Amendment store.

Handyman

Handyman is the best short-range scope available in the game. Invented by an iron techie in a Night City, this scope epitomizes the Entropism ideology. With an emphasis on functionality over style, this scope looks like it was made in a garage. The circuitry and glass panel are exposed and rough around the edges.

Don’t let the appearance fool you, as the red-tinted aiming glass helps players discern the foreground from the background. The Handyman boosts your gun’s range by 4.44 meters and reduces 0.15 seconds of ADS time. Additionally, it features a zoom level of 0.4, allowing you to hit the target accurately, even from a mid-range distance. Once you’ve confined the enemy inside the red square, the chances are you will hit them.

The Gaki scope is the best short-range scope and suits the combat strategy frequently utilized in Cyberpunk 2077. The reticle is difficult to distinguish, and this scope isn’t suited to precision rifles. The red background works against you on longer distances, and it’s difficult to line up shots over a long distance. The Epic variant of this impressive scope is purchasable from the Second Amendment store for $675 eurodollars.

MK.8 Clearvue

A Militech product, the MK.8 Clearvue is the finest scope in Cyberpunk 2077. A mid-range scope, it features an analog ammunition counter on the side of its holographic display. This feature is useful as it allows players to check their ammo effortlessly in battle. The Clearvue extends your weapon’s range by 9.29 meters while featuring a 0.20 seconds reduction in ADS time.

The Clearvue sports a modern holographic sight that significantly helps a player to track and shoot enemy targets. It has no tint and gives players a vivid and clear view of the combat. The Clearvue also features a zoom level of 0.9, which is advantageous as it allows the player to execute longer, more accurate shots. While for close-quarters combat, the zoom level sits in the sweet spot, where it doesn’t zoom too much and lets the player fight effectively in tight and confined spaces.

The MK.8 Clearvue is the preferred choice of scope in all builds and is miles apart from the rest in terms of its performance and versatility. The Epic variant of this scope can be bought from the Second Amendment store for a reasonable $1,485 eurodollars. Highly recommend this scope to players looking for a scope that performs exceptionally at short, mid, and long ranges.
