Villager Breeding Guide – Minecraft Bedrock

In this guide, you will find everything you need to know about Villager Breeding, and Repopulate villages in Minecraft Bedrock on Xbox, PC, and PS4.

You can make your village turn from just a desolate area with no villagers or few ones into a vast area full of villagers.

But before you start your dictatorship, you need to clear out an area to build houses on that. You can build the houses anywhere but make sure they are a little bit close to each other.

What you need are beds and a light source in a house and make sure that there’s also a door on the house so they can leave. You just need to make a basic house that you would normally make and each bed in these houses will represent one villager being able to spawn.

It means, that the more beds you have, the more villagers will be able to spawn and reproduce. Once you’ve built the house, you need to make a basic farm like any other and then plant carrots or whatever you want to choose for them to breed with now. Well, the carrots are the fastest ones and the best way to do this.

After building your farm, you’re ready to get your first residents into this village. It’s pretty simple to get villagers to your village, you can make a minecart system or just put down rails and a minecart because if a minecart when hits a villager, the villager will just transport into the cart. Then you can transfer it back to your area, which you can do in a survival world.

But in the creative world, you can just spawn them.

When you’ve successfully transported villagers to the houses, you’ll see that some emeralds will pop up which means that they are at home now.

Now as you successfully have about 2 villagers and you have more than 2 beds in your little village, you can start to breed them.

You can do it by placing a composter and what the composter will do is make one of them a farmer and the farmer will keep replenishing the food. Therefore they will start breeding much faster than they would if you were just throwing food at them. You can start with having two of the villagers and make them reproduce. You have to make one of them a farmer because this makes it a lot easier because farmers tend to be hard to reproduce. So you can also get three of the villagers instead of two, it’ll make your process a lot easier.

Now just wait until the farmer starts collecting food and then he’ll start throwing it at the other villagers. Then they will start getting red hearts and reproducing as long as you have enough beds in your village area. It is recommended that if you’re trying to get a ton of villagers, you just build a giant house and then fill it with a bunch of beds.
