Lumos Spell
The Lumos spell is a blessing in disguise. This utility spell is used for providing light and solving intricate puzzles. It also has an overlooked feature: this spell has the fastest cool-down period of any spell in the game. You can cast it multiple times without worrying about the cooldown period. This information and the Focus Potion can do wonders for your Wizard in combats. The Focus Potion is designed to reduce spell cooldown for your spells. Its corresponding talent Focus Potion Potency ensures that using any spell from your spell set extends the duration of the Focus Potion. So if you keep spamming Lumos when the Focus potion is drunk, you can significantly lower the cooldown of any spell, including Avada Kedavra. You must unlock Avada Kedavra Mastery from the Dark Arts Talents for this combat strategy.
Use the Crucio spell to curse enemies and obtain the Crucio Mastery talent to spread the curses around the battlefield. Cast Avada Kedavra to kill enemies. Drink the Focus Potion and keep spamming the Lumos spell and cursing the remaining enemies until Avada Kedavra returns online. Cast Avada Kedavera again to kill the remaining enemies. Pretty effective, huh?
Transformation Spell
The Transformation Spell is pretty efficient at defeating enemies. Unlock the Transformation Mastery from the spell talents; it allows you to transform enemies into explosive objects that can be used to throw at other enemies causing significant damage. This spell works great with the Blood Curse talent, which distributes damage equally to all cursed enemies.
The combat strategy is to cast curses on all enemies (Crucio) and use the Transformation spell to turn an enemy into a live explosive; throwing it at the weakest enemy will kill him and all the remaining enemies in the game.
Disillusionment/Invisibility Spell
The Invisibility spell is quite powerful in Hogwarts Legacy. It lets you go into stealth and cast Petrificus Totalus on unsuspecting enemies. Normally, this is a one-shot spell to defeat smaller enemies, but now you can use it against far more deadly enemies. Unlock the Petrificus Totalus Mastery from stealth Talents, and it will increase the AOE of the spell so that multiple enemies can be affected.
Next, you want the level 3 Trait, Ambush III, equipped with your legendary gear. For those having difficulty sourcing Traits, use the spawn-reload method. Save your game before looting any collection chest. Loot the chest, and reload the game if the trait isn’t what you want. The game generates a random new Trait every time, and you can cycle through this process until you find the trait you’re looking for. Equipping Ambush III massively increases the spell damage while using the disillusionment spell. It makes the Petrificus Totalus extremely deadly in stealth and allows you to one-shot deadly enemies such as a pack of wolves or a couple of Trolls.
Glacius and Ancient Magic
Ancient Magic is a game-changer in Hogwarts Legacy. It substantially damages enemies, and pairing it with the Glacius spell can wreak havoc on enemies’ health bars. Maxima Potion is required for this offensive strategy, and you can unlock Maxima Potion Potency from the Room of Requirement talents. The Maxima Potion significantly increases the damage by your spells and boosts Ancient Magic’s damage. Chinese Chomping Cabbages are an effective addition to this attack and paired with Herbology III Trait, it can be overwhelming for enemies. Glacius freezes enemy targets when cast and follow-up attacks cause considerable damage.
The combat strategy is to cast Crucio to curse enemies, utilize the Maxima Potion, cast Glacius to immobilise them, using Ancient Magic when frozen to deal massive damage. Another strategy is to cast Glacius and then let the Chinese Chomping Cabbages chomp your enemies to death. Chinese Chomping Cabbages are incredibly deadly when your gear is upgraded with the Herbology III trait, and they usually one-shot enemies to defeat.
