How to find Submerged Ruins, Buildings, Drowned ships and Crashed Freighters in No Man’s Sky

Alongside submerged ruins, there are three other interests you can find underwater those being crashed/drowned ships, crashed freighters, and sunken buildings. So there’s a total of four interests you can find underwater.

This guide will let you know how to both find and access all four of these points of interest starting with submerged ruins.

Before anything, you have to be on a planet with a big enough water source like an ocean to find these points of interest. So make sure you’re there before you start anything.

The next thing you have to look for is a Nautilon with a high-powered sonar as you can use it to scan for the specific points of interest that you need to be looking for. (The Nautilon is the submarine)

1. Submerged Ruins

The first place is the submerged ruins, you have to scan for it using the high-power sonar and then head to it. Although there is a chance that when you scan nothing might appear. If that happens, you need to move around the planet a bit and keep scanning until you find a ruin.

When you reach the ruins, you can interact with them by going up to the blue light/area and speaking to the ruins. When you finish interacting with the ruins, you will receive a trident key which you can use to open a sea chest. You can find sea chests near submerged ruins, typically underground.

You do need to accept the waves which will have you listen to the ruins tell a story to get the trident key, so make sure you click that options when it is presented to you.

You will also need a living pearl to open the chest.

You can find living pearls by collecting them from armoured clams, which you can find pretty easily by scanning around in the water to see if any are nearby. When you find one, you’ll have to wait till it opens to get the pearls inside it.

2. Sunken Buildings

The next location is the sunken buildings. You can use the high-power sonar to scan for all these locations.

You will mainly get nanites from the terminal in the building, but sunken buildings are also a part of the dreams of the deep quest.

3. Crashed Freighter

The next place you are going to head to is crashed freighter.

At crashed freighters, you can find cargo pods underground near the wreckage of the ship and they can contain anything from units, and nanites, to rarer items like cargo bulkheads.

And the last ones you are going to find are drowned/crashed starships.

When you find a crashed starship like this one, you have to treat it as a regularly crashed starship that you would find on land. You need to repair it to be able to take off and actually use it.
