How to Fix Overwatch 2 Not Loading

In this guide, you will come to know how to fix the Not Loading, Not Launching error in Overwatch 2.

Verify Integrity of Game Files

First, you will need to ensure that your game files are complete and up to date. Make sure that Overwatch 2 is not running in the background, and then open up your Battle.net launcher. Ensure that Overwatch 2 is selected and click on the gear icon next to the Play button. After that, click on Scan & Repair; it will take a minute to redownload and replace any missing or corrupted game files.

Game Compatibility

After that, open up your File Explorer and navigate to the drive where you saved the game, Program Files > Overwatch > beta. Then right-click the Overwatch.exe application and go to its Properties. You have to make sure that you’re in the Compatibility tab, select Disable Fullscreen Optimizations, and apply your changes on this window.

Display Settings

After that, you can close this window, right-click your desktop, and select  Display Settings. Ensure that the scaling is set to 100% and that you’re using a normal native resolution.

Disable App Overlays

If the issue persists, you need to make sure to disable any application overlays that could show up when playing the game. After that, open up your Task Manager by searching for it in your start menu search. In the Processes tab, make sure to end the processes which could show an overlay, such as Discord or other applications running on your system. You have to prevent applications from running which could change your game files, such as CCleaner or your anti-virus application.

Windows Update

Next, close your Task Manager and open up your system settings. In the Windows Update tab, you need to make sure that you are running the latest Windows version on your PC.

Update Graphics Driver

You should also make sure that your graphics driver is up to date. It is suggested to use the GeForce Experience application if you’re using an NVIDIA GPU, but you can also use the AMD driver suite. In the Drivers tab, click on Download, and the application will automatically download and install the latest driver.

Overwatch 2 Custom Settings

In the Home tab, click on Details for Overwatch. It will allow you to change some custom settings for the game. When clicking on Optimize, GeForce will apply the recommended graphics settings for Overwatch 2. Click on the gear icon on the right-hand side. From here, make sure to set the Display Mode to  Windowed. It will often fix startup and loading issues for Overwatch 2, especially when using an abnormal screen resolution. You can always change the Display Mode back to Fullscreen in your in-game settings.
