In this guide, We’ll walk you through the process of installing the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare modded client known as IW7-Mod. For now, you can enjoy the full game with all DLC and unlocks, but it will be a solo experience until the new update. There’s also an option to host your own dedicated servers, which can be more stable in Zombies mode, but keep in mind that they may still be prone to crashes.
Step 1: Obtain the Game
First and foremost, you need a copy of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare game. If you don’t have it, you can find it in this Discord group.
Step 2: Get the Necessary Files
You’ll also need the following files: the IW7-Mod, the runner executable, and the DLL file. These files can be found on the Discord server as well, or you can also find these client files from here.
Step 3: Prepare Your System
Before proceeding, make sure you’ve completely exited the Steam application, especially if you plan to use a controller to prevent issues with it. Right-click on the Steam icon in your system tray and select ‘Exit Steam’.
Step 4: Copy the Client Files
Now, go to the folder where you have Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare installed. Select all of the client files, including IW7-Mod, the runner, and the DLL, and drag them into your Infinite Warfare game folder.
Step 5: Run as Administrator
After that, locate the iw7-mod.exe file in your game folder, right-click it, and select ‘Run as Administrator’. When prompted, click ‘Yes’ to run the application with special privileges.
Step 6: Start the Game
The IW7-Mod client will begin initializing. Once the client is up and running, you can access the game. You have the option to play the campaign or multiplayer modes.
Step 7: Reset Your Rank
To begin, the game will ask you to reset your rank and unlock items. Go ahead and follow this prompt to proceed.
Step 8: Customize Your Username
After resetting your rank, you might want to change your username. Type your name followed by a space and your desired username, then press Enter. Then return to the main menu and go into multiplayer and you’ll the updated username there.
Step 9: Multiplayer Restrictions
Keep in mind that online play is not possible with this mod. You are limited to custom matches, and using a VPN may not work in custom games.
Step 10: Explore Zombies Mode & Unlock All
If you’re interested in playing Zombies mode, you can access it from the main menu. Here, you can play solo matches, custom games, and edit your Loadout. To unlock all in Zombies mode, type “unlockstats” in the console at the top left corner of the screen and press Enter. This grants you access to all stuff in the Zombies mode.
Step 11: Controller Setup
- If you prefer using a controller, go to the options menu.
- Select ‘Control Options’, and then ‘Gamepad’.
- Ensure that your PC detects your controller. If not, you can use DS4Windows for PlayStation controllers.
