Lanterns are one of the craft able blocks in the Minecraft game. They are used to emit light and can be placed anywhere or hang under the solid blocks.
To make Lantern, you will need Wood Log, Coal, Iron Ore, Iron Ingot using furnace, Wood Planks, Wood Sticks, Torch and Iron Nugget. Please follow the following steps to make a Lantern.
Wood Log
In order to make a Lantern, the basic item that you will need to get is Log of any kind of wood. So find any tree and get a log of wood using your iron axe.
Coal
After that you will have to find and get coal. Use your pickaxe to gather coal.
Iron Ore
The next required item that you need to find is iron ore. Equip your stone pickaxe and find at least one iron ore block. You will find some under the ground.
Iron Ingot using Furnace
Now you need to use the furnace to get iron ingot as you have iron ore in stock. Go towards the furnace to add coal and an iron ore block in it. Add one iron ore in the upper box and coal in the lower box to get iron ingot in the right-side box of the furnace. Add this iron ingot into your “ready to use” stock.
Wood Planks
After that you need to make wood planks from wood logs you have collected. Move towards the crafting table and add wood log in any cell of 3*3 crafting grid to get wood planks in the right-side box of the crafting table. One wood block will convert into 4 wood planks. Bring these wood planks into inventory.
Wood Sticks
Now you need to craft sticks from wood planks. Add two wood planks on 3*3 crafting grid as shown in the image below. You will get four wood sticks in the right-side box of the crafting table. Add them in your inventory to use later.
Torch
Now make a torch from coal and a stick using the crafting table. Add coal and wood sticks in adjacent cells of any column where coal must be in the upper cell and wood stick in the lower cell. You will get four torches in the right-side box of the crafting table. Add these torches in your inventory.
Iron Nugget
After that you will need to craft nuggets from an iron ingot using the crafting table. Add iron ingot in any cell of the crafting grid to get 9 nuggets in the right-side box of the crafting table. Add these nuggets in your inventory.
Lantern
Now you can craft a Lantern by using the crafting table once more. Add torch in the middle cell and eight iron nuggets in the remaining eight cells of the grid. You will get a Lantern in the right side box of the crafting table. Add this item in your “ready to use” stock.
