How to mod PAYDAY 2 on the EPIC STORE 2023

In this step-by-step guide, we’ll walk you through the process of installing and managing mods for PAYDAY 2 on the Epic Store.

Step 1: Download and Install PAYDAY 2

Before you can begin modding, make sure you’ve downloaded and installed PAYDAY 2 from the Epic Store. Once installed, launch the game and exit out.

Step 2: Locate the Game’s Root Folder

To mod PAYDAY 2, you need to locate the game’s root folder.

  • Open the Epic Games Launcher.
  • Click on the three dots (…) in front of the game title and select ‘Manage’.
  • Click on the folder’s icon to open the install location.

The root folder can vary depending on your installation path, but it’s typically located in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Epic\PAYDAY2

Step 3: Download SuperBLT

SuperBLT is an essential launcher for PAYDAY 2 mods.
  • Download the SuperBLT launcher. Make sure you’ve already installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 on your PC. Otherwise, you can also download it from the launcher’s website.
  • After that, click on the latest release DLL file for the SuperBLT and save it.
  • Place the DLL file in the PAYDAY 2 root folder.

Step 4: Launch PAYDAY 2

Reopen the Epic Games Launcher, and launch PAYDAY 2 again. The game may take a moment to generate necessary folders, such as ‘mods’.

Now download the Payday 2 BeardLib library from GitHub and extract the zip file in the mods folder of the root directory.

  • To download mods for Payday 2 you can visit the Modworkshop website.
  • Choose a mod and download the zip file of the mod by pressing the Blue Download button.

Step 5: Organize Mods

Mods come in different categories, such as visual mods, core mods, or custom content. Organize them accordingly within the game’s root folder.

For example:

  • Visual mods, like skin changes, go into the “mod_overrides” folder inside the assets folder of the game.
  • Core mods, which affect gameplay, go into the “mods” folder.

Step 6: Enable Mods

Launch the game again, and you’ll notice that mods are enabled. You can manage them in the Mods Manager within the game. Customize your game with the mods you’ve installed.
