This guide will provide you with the steps to enhance the performance of your computer in SpiderMan. All the settings on your Windows and GPU need to be adjusted for the best FPS, as well as graphics settings for the game display. Lastly, a small change has to be made in RTSS. By following these instructions, your FPS will achieve its best-optimized level.
Window Settings
1.1- Before booting the game, you have to make some changes to the Windows settings. First of all, go to the left-hand side of your screen, type “game mode settings” in the search column, and press enter. A new window will appear and you have to make sure that the game mode is turned on.
1.2- GPU Drivers
This is a very important step, you have to make sure that you are running on the latest GPU driver. In case you want to check this, press the control shift and escape buttons on your keyboard, and the task manager will open. Head over to the performance tab and scroll all the way down to GPU 0. On the top right side of this panel, you will find the name of the GPU that you are using on your PC.
1.3- Now you have to enable refresh rate mode on your monitor. It will typically be accessed by the settings button on the back of your monitor. Inside of this, you have to look through most of the main modes until you find something titled “g-sync compatible AMD free sync” or any modes which are marked as variable refresh rate.
After that, you have to enable this option. Go to NVidia’s control panel, scroll down to get G-sync on the left-hand side, and enable this option.
In-Game Settings
2.1- You will need to boot your game. For this, head over to Steam, select your game, and click on Play. When the game launches, you will need to go to the setting menu and change your screen mode to exclusive screen mode. Now if you are planning to use free sync or G-sync, you have to turn off the second last option in the settings menu “v-sync”. You need to set your monitor refresh rate as high as possible and then press OK.
2.2- After that click on Play, if you don’t have MSI afterburner installed, it is totally fine. You have to press escape, go to settings and navigate to “Display and Graphics”. Regardless of how good or bad, your PC is, you need to utilize dlss for the best visual quality. In case you can’t use dlss, then the second option is AMD fsr 2.0. Turn off the dynamic resolution scaling option as this game is very heavy on the CPU. You will notice that the FPS will drop. You need to apply those settings and go back inside of your game.
2.3- Now you need to check the quality of the game, move your mouse and check the color. But if you are still not happy with this, then you have to again press escape, go to settings, and then navigate to Display and Graphics. You have to now keep the upscale quality to balanced and you will find a slight increase in FPS.
2.4- After that, head over to the graphics tab at the top and set the texture quality according to your system’s specs. In case, you are using an extremely low GP, U you can set this too low but in case you are using a high-end pc, you can set this too high or very high. For texture filtering, you have to keep this 4 or 8 times higher. Now for shadow quality as it has very little impact on the game you can set this to medium. For ambient conclusion, you can set this to SSAO. Screen space reflection should be turned on.
2.5- Now come down to the Geometry tab, for the level of details set this to medium. For traffic and crowd density keep both of them to the medium position. Set the hair quality to medium. For weather particles quality set this to medium.
2.6- Now come down to the camera effects, keep the depth of field low, and keep bloom ON as it will give the game the most cinematic views. Keep the lens Flares ON. For Chromatic aberration keep this to the ON position as this gives sharpness to the game. For Vignette keep this to ON. For motion, blur strength keep this to 5. The field of view completely depends on your personal preference. Keep the film grain strength to zero position, once everything is set up head back to the game.
RTSS Settings
Now in case you want to boost your FPS to 90, you can easily achieve this through RTSS. Now open the RTSS control panel and now navigate to the right-hand side set the frame rate limit to 90 and then press enter.
