The Best Locations For finding Cyclops Engine Fragments in Subnautica

This guide will provide the best locations for Cyclops Engine Fragments in Subnautica. There are six potential locations where you can find Cyclop’s engine fragments.

Location #1

You can reach the first location by starting from the coral tube sticking out of the water and heading north. You need to use it as your starting point for all the locations.

When going there, bringing a sea moth with hull reinforcement, Perimeter defense, an MK1-MK2 depth module, and a knife is recommended. You will need a laser cutter to explore the entire wreck and a Sea glide.

You need to look for a large wreck in the underwater Islands biome.

For threats, the creatures that you’ll encounter here are bone sharks, which can be very annoying. They can damage you and your sea moth if you aren’t careful. You can use perimeter defence against them to ward them off, or you can leave your sea moth higher up so that they won’t attack it too much after you get out and leave it.

Location #2

To reach the 2nd and 3rd locations, use the same coral tube Starting point as before and head about two notches to the left of the northeast until you see the mountain island on your left side.

It is recommended to bring a sea moth with an MK2 depth module, perimeter defence, and maybe sonar if you want to see creatures from far away. You will need a sea glide, a laser cutter if you again want to explore the wreck fully, and a stasis rifle if you want to be extra safe.

The main threats in terms of creatures that you’ll encounter here are reaper leviathans and warpers. Warpers can deal decent damage to you and your vehicles and will do more damage to you, depending on your character’s level of infection. They can also warp you out of a sea moth or prawn suit, so be aware if they get near you.

When you reach the mountain island, you have to hug the side of the mountain and head straight alongside the mountain until you reach a thermal vent.

Once you reach the thermal vent, you must head northeast or one notch to the right of the northeast until you reach the mountain biome wreck.
The depth of the wreck is about 350-370M.

Location #3

To reach the next wreck, you can start from two locations. You can start from the wreck you were just at in the mountain biome or go back and start from the coral tube.
If you start from the coral tube starting point, head about 1 notch to the left of the northeast until you reach another smaller wreck in the mountains biome.
If you are starting from the same wreck as this guide, head about two notches to the left of the east or between the east and northeast until you reach the small wreck in the mountains biome.

Location #4

You can reach the next location using the same coral tube starting point and then heading south or half a notch to the right of the south until you reach the crag fields biome. You must run into it after passing through the grassy plateau.

When going there, bringing a sea moth with an MK1 depth module or perimeter defence, a sea glide, and a flashlight is recommended.

The only threat that you’ll encounter in this biome are bone sharks which you ran into in the underwater islands biome as well, and they are pretty much the same here; they can deal decent damage to you and your vehicle, but you can use perimeter defence to ward them off, or you can attack and kill them using your survival knife.

Now there isn’t an actual wreck in this biome, but engine fragments can be found scattered throughout the biome on the seafloor.

Location #5

To reach the next location, use the coral tube starting point and then head about 1 notch to the right of the southeast until you reach the crash zone area behind the aurora.

Please Reload/Refresh this tab.

When going there, it is highly recommended to bring a sea moth with at least perimeter defense on it and maybe an MK1 depth module if you have it, a sea glide and a static rifle if you can to be extra safe.

The biggest/only threat you will encounter here are reaper leviathans which I’ve already talked about; they are very dangerous and can easily destroy you and your vehicle if you aren’t careful around them. If one does Grab or go near you, you can use perimeter defense in your sea moth or the stasis rifle to freeze it if you aren’t in a vehicle.

Location #6

For the final place, you have to start from the coral tube that sticks out of the water and head toward the front of the aurora, where the opening is. You need to go inside the aurora.

You must bring a propulsion cannon if you have one, a repair tool, a knife, and maybe a sea moth or sea glide if you want to reach the ship faster.

There aren’t any threats in the aurora aside from bleeders and cave crawlers, but cave crawlers and bleeders can be killed easily by a few swipes from your knife, and they don’t do that much damage on top of that.

Now when you go left to the cargo bay, you need to have the propulsion cannon so you can move the boxes out of the way and easily get by. If you don’t have a propulsion cannon, you can sprint jump onto one of the boxes and get over that way (although it can take a few attempts before you get onto the big box).

The code for the first door is 1454.

Now in the main area where you can find fragments, you must check all the open giant boxes, as Cyclops engine fragments can potentially spawn inside the boxes.

If you want to explore the rest of the ship, you will need a laser cutter and the other door codes.
