In this guide, you will find out how to set up DesMuMe Emulator. You have to follow the step-by-step instructions below to set it up.
Download Emulator
Before downloading the emulator, you have to create a new folder on your desktop. Right-click on your desktop, select New, and then click on New Folder. You have to name this folder “NDS”. Now you have to download the Mame64 from http://desmume.org/, open this link and click on Download on the left side of your screen. Then you will find the supported platforms, you have to select your platform and then click on Download.
Emulator Set Up
After the downloading, click on the show in the folder option and then drag and drop the zip folder into the NDS folder which you created earlier. Then unzip that downloaded folder by right-clicking on it and then selecting Extract here. Now you have to open the emulator, which is the file with the Desmume logo. Click on the view on the top and then select the window size according to your choice.
Now first, you have to set up your sound settings by clicking on Config and then tapping on Sound settings. For synchronization, you have to make sure that synchronous is selected. Leave the remaining settings the same as the default and then click on OK.
Now go back to config and then select 3D settings. In case, you are using an Nvidia graphics card, you have to change this to OpenGL 3.2 and then click on OK. Then again go to Config, navigate to display method, and change it to OpenGL
After that, go back to the previous menu to set up your controls. In case you have Xbox or PS, you can connect the controller to your PC. This emulator will also automatically detect the Bluetooth controller. For mapping, you have to go to control mapping and click on the button you are ready to emulate as that will be highlighted in green, then hit the button you have to set up in place of that button on your controller. Once you are done click on save.
Now you have to load up a game. For this, click on the file and tap on the open file. You need to locate the folder in which you keep all your games. After this, you can enjoy playing your game.
