30+ Tips to Class Gadgets in Battlefield 2042

In this guide, you will get more than 30 tips for Class Gadgets in Battlefield 2042. These tips revolve around the usage and functionality of gadgets.

Class Gadgets

The class gadgets are unique gear their respective class can only use and are no longer available to other classes. During a match, you can see your class Gadget at the bottom right corner of your screen. Press the d-pad on the console and controller or 5 on the PC to use it.

Med Pen

The class gadget for the assault class is the Med pen, and you can use it to heal yourself when wounded quickly. Once you take damage, you can use it by tapping the button. If you take 35 damage or more, a self-heal message will be shown on the screen. After using your Med pen, you can resupply it at a med crate, ammo crate, or at Angel’s Loadout drop. It takes one second to initiate healing, and the med pen will heal 35 HP per second. You can also interrupt the healing if you want to fire your weapon. When you start it again, it will continue until you stop it. Once you take damage, the med pen will become accessible.

Repair Tool

Repair Tool is a tool for the Engineer class that you can use to repair allied vehicles and gadgets. You can also use it to damage and destroy enemies. Just walk over to the vehicle and hold the Trigger button to start the repair; the tool’s and the vehicle’s status will be visible in the middle of your screen. You can repair it for about 8 seconds before the tool overheats, and then it has around 3 seconds of cooldown. Its duration depends on the time you have used the tool. You will receive 20 XP every three seconds of repair. If you play as Crawford, you will have an advantage over than other two engineers because he can repair vehicles that are below 25 percent health quickly. But you will only repair the vehicle faster until it has reached 25 health again. You must pay close attention to the health bar to find vehicles below 25 health.

Apart from this, all vehicles near your location needing repair will have a little tool icon above them. The vehicle driver will also be able to recognize you as you will have the same icon above your head. When you start repairing, the driver will be notified that someone is fixing his vehicle. Taking smoke grenades or smoke on the barrel launchers while repairing is recommended to cover yourself. It is a bit easier when you are in the passenger seat of an air vehicle as you can sit down and repair the vehicle from the inside.

It comes in handy for weekly missions where you need to do repairs, and you will receive repair assists. You can also use the repair tool to repair the robot dog ranger and other deployable gadgets. You can quickly disassemble the enemy’s vehicle if you want to.

Defibrillator

Defibrillator is a gadget for the support class; you can use it to revive your teammates with up to full health. There are two types of Reviving: the interaction revive, where you need to walk over to a down teammate and press the Interact button to revive. All support players give full health with the interaction revive even though some of them might take a little longer. You can only revive manually when you access the defibrillator with a gadget button. You need to hold the Trigger button to charge the gadget and then release it to revive. When you charge the gadget, a small semi-circle will appear in the middle of the screen, indicating how long it takes to fully charge the fibrillator. When the white circle is full, you will revive with 100 health. If you tap the trigger, you will revive with 25 health.

The charge-up times for a full revive are the same as for the interaction revive. When you are sure you can go for the revive, and there are no threads around, you can stick to the interaction revive because it gives full health to your teammates. But the manual defibrillator comes in handy in more dangerous situations with enemies around. The down teammates can be seen by the typical icon above their bodies, and if you want to tell a Down Soldier that you are coming for the revive, you can point your Crosshair at their icon and toggle the Ping button to give them a message.

It’s also worth looking around and checking for markers because your teammates can still ping the enemies nearby when downed. You only need to tap the trigger for a quick zap, which will deal 100 damage.

Insertion Beacon

The last Gadget is for the Recon class, called Insertion Beacon. You can use it as an additional deployment point for you and your squad mates. You can place it at different locations, and you and your squad mates can spawn up to four times on it before it destroys. You cannot spawn at the beacon of your teammates, and they can’t spawn at your beacon. It is recommended to place a new one when you spawn on it yourself. It can be resupplied at normal ammo crates and not only at Angel’s Loadout drop. You cannot have more than one big on the map at any time. If you switch to a different class, the old beacon will be destroyed, and the enemies can also remove it. The beacon is pretty easy to identify. You will receive a small amount of XP for every time your squad mates spawn at your beacon. The beacon doesn’t prevent you from spawning in the middle of a gunfight.
