Empire of Sin is a strategy and role-playing game, where players role-play as an underworld boss and try to strategize and expand their illicit operations. Players compete to control different parts of the city. In this short guide, you will find out how to assign lieutenants and in the process, expand safehouses in new areas. Let’s jump in!
Establishing Safehouses
To assign or promote lieutenants, players need to acquire a Safehouse first. Safehouses are the player’s strongholds. Players will gain offensive, defensive, and healing bonuses while inside the Safehouse. To build a Safehouse, you’ll need a made gangster.
Safehouses can be made by attacking derelict buildings and taking over them. For example in the picture above, the gang of 4 attacked the derelict building and emerged victorious in vacating the premises of the previous tenants.
The next option that comes up is to take over the building and transform it into one of the following; a Safehouse, Brewery, Speakeasy, Brothel, Casino, or Hotel.
Select the Safehouse option and it will require some money depending on the neighbourhood.
Assigning a Lieutenant
After buying and transforming the building into your gang’s safe house, the next step is to assign a Lieutenant. The game automatically pops up the option of assigning a lieutenant.
Your lieutenant can’t be an advisor and has to be a made gangster. They will gain 80 loyalty when promoted to Lieutenant. Lieutenants also positively affect the morale of other gangsters in the neighborhood and lastly, Lieutenants can’t become moles. Players won’t be able to control Lieutenants as they’ll be running your criminal empire in that specific neighborhood.
The players can head over to the Black Book and confirm that their criminal hierarchy now has a Lieutenant. Players will notice the gangster who they have assigned as Lieutenant, take up their seat in front of the desk.
Those willing to remove Lieutenants and assign newer ones, simply click on the table and select the option of “Unassign”. Be wary as sometimes disgruntled lieutenants might leave your gang altogether. It is suggested to be judicious when assigning Lietenants as players can’t control their actions anymore.
Remember to establish safe houses in all the neighbourhoods to expand your empire and in the process acquire more money.
