Improved Combat AI mod is used to make NPCs more intelligent and responsive. By installing this mod in your game, you can make grenades more prominent and reduce the NPC’s reaction time.
To install the Improved Combat AI mod in Starfield, follow these simple steps:
- First, download the Improved Combat AI mod from the Nexus site. (You might need to create an account if you don’t have one).
- After downloading the mod file, you’ll need to paste the contents of the zip file into the Starfield game directory.
Starfield location:
Local Disk (C:) > Users > Documents > My Games > Starfield
Starfield location (Steam):
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\
Note: You’ll have to overwrite the files in case of any duplicate files.
- Now, download the ‘StarfieldCustom.ini’ file, which can be found in the ‘Misc’ folder.
- Move the ‘StarfieldCustom.ini’ file to the ‘Starfield’ directory.
- If you already have the ‘StarfieldCustom.ini’ file, simply add the following line under the [General] section (create it if it isn’t already there) of the file.
sStartingConsoleCommand=bat ImprovedCombatAI
- If you already have an existing “sStartingConsoleCommand=” line, append the new command to it like this:
sStartingConsoleCommand=bat othermods;bat ImprovedCombatAI
This ensures that the new command will also be executed alongside any existing ones.
Alternatively, you can also auto-install the mod by using Vortex mod manager.
That’s it! Your mod is now installed. You can try it out by launching the game.
