Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to add pets to an existing household/family in The Sims 4.
Step 1: Open the cheat bar and enter “testingcheats true“. Press Ctrl + Shift + C simultaneously, and type in “testingcheats true“.
Step 2: Enable the “cas.fulleditmode” cheat.
Step 3: Go to your Sim, hold Shift, and left-click on your Sim. Select “Modify in CAS“.
Step 4: From the Create-a-sim menu, you can add a new pet (dog or cat) to your existing household. Click the plus icon representing the “Add a Sim” label at the bottom left corner, then click the “Add Pet” icon and choose your pet (dog or cat).
Step 5: You can also customize your pet to your liking. After making all changes, click on the Play icon at the bottom right corner. The new pet will appear somewhere inside or outside your Sim’s home.
