Cyberpunk 2077 features Braindance, an innovative technology that allows one to record and playback someone’s experience, including their physical sensations, emotions and thoughts. In the quest “The Job,” players face the first real test of their detective skills while trying to find a Relic ahead of an infiltration mission. This walkthrough will outline all the items and layers players must look for in “The Information Brain Dance.” Without further ado, let’s jump in.
The Information Brain Dance
There are three objectives players can complete in “The Information” quest. The main objective is to use Analysis Mode to locate the Relic. The other two objectives are optional but are vital to the story. The second objective is to scan the apartment’s security systems, and the last objective is to watch the whole recording from Evelyn’s perspective.
If players switch to Analysis Mode at the start, they won’t be able to complete the last objective. This guide advises watching the recording from Evelyn’s POV first so players can complete all three objectives.
Evelyn’s POV – Third Objective
Players should also watch this in-first person to understand the story and the set-up first. It will play out as follows; Evelyn enters the apartment, Adam Smasher makes a rude remark and leaves, and Yorinobu takes a video call, followed by a voice call. Then, Yorinobu and Evelyn start making their way to the bedroom, and as Evelyn climbs on top of Yorinobu, the recording ends.
Players should be careful not to switch layers during this recording as this will terminate the third objective. Players must press Play when T-Bug interrupts and the video pauses several times. Ignore T-Bug’s advice and continue playing the recording without changing layers. Voila! The third optional objective is complete.
Rewind to the beginning, and we’ll complete the second objective.
Apartment’s Security Systems – Second Objective
Start from the beginning and switch to the Yellow Visual Layer. As soon as the elevator’s doors open, pause the recording. To your right, there’s an Alarm system that can be scanned. It’s a vertical rectangle on the wall, right side of the elevator door.
There’s also a Motion Sensor Camera on the same side of the room. It is located just above the door on the left side of the Alarm System. Additionally, players can also scan Adam Smasher, the giant walking cyborg walking towards Evelyn as she enters the apartment.
Next up, as Evelyn makes her way toward Yorinobu, players can scan another Motion Sensor Camera in the ceiling, directly above where Yorinobu’s sitting and taking a call. Lastly, as Evelyn and Yorinobu make their way toward the bedroom, the area between the couch and the bedroom has an Automated Turret and a Motion Sensor Camera in the ceiling. Scan them to complete the second objective.
Congratulations, you’ve completed two out of three objectives. Rewind to the beginning and complete audio and datapad scans to reach the last objective.
Audio Scans
Start from the beginning and switch to the Green Audio Layer. Head to the lounge where Yorinobu’s talking on the phone while seated, and there’s a TV in front of him.
Players can scan two things here. The TV and the phone can both be scanned. After scanning both items, the green layer will get cleared, and you’ll get a new objective; Scan the Datapad.
Datapad Scan
Switch back to the Yellow Visual Layer, and fast-forward to the moment Yorinobu lays into his bed. It’s near the end of the recording. Players have to fly the camera inside the bedroom, and there are two items of interest.
The first is the Liberty Gun at the foot of the bed. Scan the weapon. Next and most important, fly the camera toward the bed and point it toward Yorinobu’s Datapad. Play forward or reverse until a magnifying glass icon appears. Scan the datapad too.
Scanning these two items will unlock a third layer (Thermal) and the last objective.
Finding the Relic – First & Main Objective
To complete the Information braindance, players must find the location of the relic hidden inside the apartment. Rewinding from the end and equipping the Blue Thermal Layer, players can scan an AC when Evelyn fidgets with the touchscreen on the wall and Yorinobu is laying on the bed. There should be a vent high up on the wall between Yorinobu and Evelyn.
Next, halfway through the braindance, players can scan the Donoaghy’s Champagne and Ice Bucket on the table next to where Evelyn and Yorinobu hug in the living room. Also, when Evelyn pours the champagne, there’s a Fridge underneath her legs. It can be scanned too.
Finally, just before Evelyn walks to pour some champagne, she’ll be by the TV, and Yorinobu will be near the champagne and fridge. You can find the Hidden Safe just past the wall with a hole near the windows on the far side of the room.
