How to Setup Retroarch on Android

This guide will tell you how to Set Up RETROARCH on Android. You have to follow the step-by-step instructions to do.

Download Retroarch

First, you have to open the play store, go to the search bar, and type “Retroarch”. The play store will give you two options, one is standard and the other is plus but you have to download the standard one. Once the download is finished, click on Play and give permission to read external storage, and click on Ok. Allow Retroarch to access your media, photos, and files.

Download Core

Under the main menu, you have to click on Load Core and then tap on download the core. The core is basically an individual gaming console emulator, there are a lot of cores in Retroarch but you have to download the genius core gs tap on it and you will see that your core is started downloading.

After this, go back and now click on Load Content. Now you can load up the game you want to play but first, you should know the location of your games on your phone. Once you get there, you need to click on the game you want to load and the game will start.

Adding games

Now if you want to add all the games in the Retroarch then you have to click on the three little dots at the bottom of your screen. After that, click on Import Content and then tap on Scan Directory. Locate where your games are and then select “Scan This Directory.”

After this, go back to the playlist page, scroll to the bottom and you will find the consoles that you just uploaded. Click on them and it will show you the games on this console.

If you want to play the game in the landscape mod, you just have to flip your phone to the side and you will go into the landscape.

Settings

1- If you are using a touch screen button and you want to change your d-pad to a joystick, then you have to for this click on the little circle on the left side under the d-pad that will change the d-pad into a Joystick.

When you go to the quick menu, you will have a bunch of options and you have to select On-Screen Overlay. If you want to change the default look, then scroll down and select Overlay Preset. After that, click on the Parent directory, then scroll down to find the console you are playing with. Select it and go back to the game.

2- If you are using a Bluetooth controller, then you need to go to the quick menu, scroll down and click on the On-Screen Overlay. Turn off the Display Overlay and it will get rid of on-screen touch buttons.

3- Now go back and find controls in the quick menu. Click on it and then you can map your buttons out.
