How to shut off the Alien Gun and Cure Yourself in Subnautica

In this guide, you will find how to shut off the Alien Gun and cure yourself in Subnautica.
You will first need to go to the alien gun and try to turn it off if you haven’t already. It will not let you shut it off if you aren’t cured. So if you haven’t already done that, you can reach the alien gun by using almost any starting point and heading just between north and northeast on the compass until you reach/see the island in the mountains biome.

You don’t need anything aside from one thing, which is the purple tablet; you will need two or one of them. If you go through the moonpool, you will only need one, but if you go through the front, you will need two. The blueprint for the purple tablet can be found by scanning the broken purple tablet at the main entrance to the alien gun. And then you can make it yourself.

When you see the island, you will need to go around the left side of the island as the alien gun is near the back of the island.

Now you have to cure yourself before you can turn off the gun which is a bit of a journey. So make sure you are well-prepared before starting this.

Starting from the coral tube that sticks out of the water, you need to head about one bump on the compass to the right of northwest until you reach the northwestern mushroom forest and eventually the blood kelp biome.

You can not bring a sea moth here as you will go to depths of 1600M. So the only two vehicles you can bring are the Prawn suit and Cyclops or both if you want. You can also bring extra power cells, a sea glide, a reinforced five suit, and a repair tool. If you have the Cyclops, then make sure you have the max depth upgrade module for it, and if you have a prawn suit, it is recommended to have the max depth upgrade, the thrust jet upgrade, and at least the grapple arm.

You first need to go to the alien gun and try to turn it off if you haven’t already. It shouldn’t let you shut it off if you aren’t cured. So if you haven’t already done that, you can reach the alien gun by using almost any starting point and heading just between north and northeast on the compass until you reach/see the island in the mountains biome.

As you go through the lost river, blood kelp inactive and active lava zone, you will encounter many creatures. You need to watch out for ghost leviathans; sea dragons will be the most dangerous ones. They are also the biggest and the hardest to miss. So you shouldn’t have trouble missing them, but if you do see them, try to avoid them as best as possible since they can easily destroy your vehicle and kill you if they constantly attack you.
You may find Ghost leviathans in the lost river and sea dragons in the inactive and active lava zones.

As you move through the lost river, you will also find river prowlers, which aren’t extremely dangerous but can still damage your vehicles and harm you. So you have to be wary of them.

When you reach the inactive and active lava zone, you will encounter lava larvae that won’t hurt/attack you. But they will latch onto your vehicles, especially the Cyclops, and drain energy from them for as long as they are attached. You can cut them off using your knife to keep them from draining energy. And lava lizards are just as dangerous as river prowlers but slightly more so because they can shoot projectiles at you if they swim through lava. So just be careful of them.

When you reach the mushroom forest, you need to continue heading northwest, and you will come across a large trench-like area, the blood kelp biome.

It’s also very important to know that you will need 2 blue tablets to get into the facility you need to reach to cure yourself.

Once you reach this trench, head straight into the trench, you should reach a point where there is a sort of large drop into the trench, and you will drop down. After that, turn around and go straight, leading you into the lost river biome.

If it helps a little, once you drop down, you should be at about 500-600M. Then you have to look between south and southwest and head in that direction after you drop down into the bottom of the trench, where it is dark.

Once you reach the lost river biome, head south until you reach another drop leading you even deeper into the biome.

Also, if it makes it easier, you can just hug the left side/wall of the area and keep going along it until you reach the drop you will be looking for.

When you reach the drop, you must simply go down until you reach the bottom.

When you reach the bottom of the drop and move forward a little, you will find a large area with a skull/bone in the middle along 3 entrances to different areas, an entrance to the left. Straight ahead and to the right, you need to go to the right, and it will lead into a blue area with a giant tree and ghost rays swimming.

When you get into this area, just continue straight past the tree, and stay near the right side of the area until you see a sort of path/entrance that descends into the inactive lava zone area.

After you have found and gone down the entrance, you should see a long/large cavern-type area in which you can go to the left or right, and you are going to head right through the cavern until you reach the inactive lava zone.

When you have reached the end of the cavern, you will get into a large area with a sort of castle in the middle, and in that large area, the sea dragon will be swimming around, which is how you’ll know you are in the right area. When you get in the area, you must head between northeast and east until you find a large hole in the ground. When you go down it, it will lead you to the active lava zone.

You can also hug the wall or just hug the left side of the area and you can find the hole that way as well.

When you reach the hole, drop down the hole until you reach the bottom. Once at the bottom, head about two notches to the left of the south on the compass until you eventually find an alien facility and a large lava lake.

Once the sea emperor stops talking and swims away, head down into the sanctuary and find her eggs. In front of her eggs, there will be a place you can insert an ion cube, and she will speak to you again and clean the portal of the sand that is blocking it. Afterwards, you can place an ion cube in the portal and get the blueprint for the hatching enzyme.

After the emperor gets rid of the sand blocking the portal, you will need to use another ion cube to activate the portal; then, afterwards, you can get the blueprint for the hatching enzymes.

Once you have the blueprint, you have to make the hatching enzymes, and then you can hatch her eggs.

After a short moment, the emperor will speak to you again, then hear babies will leave through the portal. But before they leave through the portal, they will start to create a little brown bubble called concentrated enzyme 42, and you need to interact with it/touch it; a small will play. Then you will be able to cure the Kharra disease.

Once you are cured of the disease, you can return to the alien gun and interact with it again to disable it.
