You can sell the royal sigils in the marketplace to get a tidy sum. But before you do that, keep in your mind that the royal sigils are very much valuable.
For powerful royal gear, royal sigils require crafting materials which include armor for your head chest, and feet. Royal gear is considered artifact gear. If you compare it to the other equipment of the same level, royal gears will have good stats and it even has unique abilities. You will need to have a lot of royal sigils if you want to craft the royal gear. Also, you need to create one standard equipment item of the same type and class.
In case you want to craft a tier 4 royal jacket, you will need any of the standard t4 leather jackets and 4 royal sigils.
You can also craft your royal boots, you will require t6 soldier boots or knight boots or guardian boots, plus you will need 8 master royal sigils.
By pressing “b”, you can also see your destiny board and see what other materials you will need for the specific item you need to craft. Crafting royal gear does not require the same crafting skills as other gears of the same type requires.
You can buy an eligible armor piece from the market, take it to the crafting station and combine it with your royal sigils and upgrade it to royal gear. If you are not able to craft it by yourself, obviously it will require a special skill to learn on your destiny board.
For example, if you want to equip a royal chest piece, you will need to learn an appropriate skill in cloth robe fighter, leather jacket fighter, or a plate an armored fighter. 
You can only get the royal sigils as an expedition reward per day once you buy them at the marketplace. You can use them in crafting.
