Mount And Blade Warband Console Commands (Cheat Codes)

Originally released in 2010, Mount and Blade is one of the few games that has managed to stay relevant a decade after its release. It is fair to assume that if you are reading this article, you have already put some hour into the game. While the gameplay is certainly timeless as evident by its immense popularity, the game surely could use some spicing up as certain elements just feel too dull. Well, command console does just that. It gives the game a new perspective all the while keeping the core experience unchanged. Using console commands and cheat codes allows you to access features not enabled by default. Through console commands, you can add gold, level up your character and activate or finish a quest just by typing in a command. You can also unlock several in-game achievements on top of that. Additionally, you can use cheat codes to access features like the ability to freeze time, stop the game timer, completely heal yourself and increase the efficiency of your weapons among others. Plus you get access to a lot of customization options that are locked in the regular version. While you can use Mods to do all of this and more, Console command and cheat codes offer a simple and intuitive way to get the same results without having to go through a ton of complex installations and whatnot.

How to Enable Cheats?

In order to enable cheats in Mount & Blade: Warband, you need to go into the launcher and select “Configuration”. Then check the box labelled Enable Cheats. Please note that certain cheats like map cheats only work in certain screens and don’t work throughout the game.

Unlimited Denars:

Certain cheats do not work through the command console and you have to change the game files in order to execute them. Unlimited Denars is one of those cheats and allows you to score 1000 Denars every time you perform the following steps.

Go to your game’s installation folder and open the file

reg_config.txt

Find the line that says

cheat_mode = 0

Replace 0 with 1 and click save. Now launch the game and go to the inventory screen. Press the X key while holding down the Ctrl key. This will score you 1000 Denars and you can repeat the process to score as many as you want.

An important disclaimer is that messing with game’s files always carries some risk and its up to you to decide if Unlimited Denars is worth that risk.

God Mode:

To enable God mode without using any mods, launch the game and select any random character. Now open the character sheet.

Now in the bottom left, click on “statistics”

Now click “Export Character”

Now go to your game’s main folder and select the CharExport Folder

After opening your character text file, you can tweak every little detail to your liking. Just make sure not to mess with the “reserves skills” section as it causes the game to crash.

Hit save when you are done and launch the game

Select a character that has the same name as the character you just edited. Go to the character sheet and click on “statistics”

Now Click on “Import character” and voila!
